2. Size: "king" is not a standard
This is where most disappointment comes from. A set sold as king can measure anywhere from about 86 to 95 inches wide, and a sheet two inches short will not tuck under the mattress.
- Measure your mattress width, length and depth before ordering.
- Add twice the depth plus about 6 inches for tuck on each side.
- Check the listed inches, not just the word "king" or "double bed".

3. Price: what each budget really buys
- Under Rs 1,500: thin polyester blend, loud print, pills within a season.
- Rs 2,000 – 4,000: the sweet spot — real cotton or crystal cotton, colour-fast printing, correct king sizing.
- Above Rs 5,000: heavier weaves, embroidery and brand names. Quality rises, but not in proportion to price.

4. Quality checks anyone can do
- Hold it to the light. If your hand shows clearly through a folded corner, the fabric is thin.
- Feel the print. Good printing is part of the fabric; a plastic-feeling layer on top will crack and fade.
- Check the pillow covers. A 3 piece set should include two covers with finished, even stitching — cheap sets skimp here first.
- Look at the hem. Wide, straight double-stitched hems last; narrow single stitching unravels.
- Read the size in inches. If a seller will not state it, assume it is small.
Buying online, you cannot touch the fabric — so the listing has to do that work. Exact inches, fabric name and piece count are the signs of a seller who expects you to be satisfied.
What "3 piece" means
In Pakistan a 3 piece bed sheet set means one bedsheet and two pillow covers.
