Search for a king size bedsheet in Pakistan and you will find sets at Rs 900 and sets at Rs 12,000, often photographed on the same bed with the same lighting. The gap is real, but it is not a straight line: plenty of Rs 6,000 sets are no better made than Rs 2,500 ones, they are simply sold under a bigger name.
This guide explains what each price band honestly buys, and how to judge a bedsheet without relying on the numbers printed on the packet.
What each budget buys
| Price (king set) | Typically | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Under Rs 1,500 | Thin polyester or poly-cotton, loud print, one or no pillow covers | A season or two before pilling |
| Rs 1,500 – 2,500 | Poly-cotton or light cotton, 2 pillow covers, prints fade with washing | 1–2 years of regular use |
| Rs 2,500 – 4,000 | Good cotton or crystal cotton, colour-fast prints, proper king sizing | 3–5 years with sensible washing |
| Rs 4,000 – 7,000 | Branded cotton, heavier weave, embroidered or duvet sets | 5 years+ |
| Above Rs 7,000 | Premium brands, imported cotton, bridal and embroidered sets | Long, if cared for properly |

Where the money actually goes
- Fabric weight. More cotton per square metre costs more and feels better. This is the single biggest real difference between a cheap sheet and a good one.
- Fibre length. Longer cotton fibres make smoother, stronger fabric that pills less. It is why two sheets with the same "thread count" can feel completely different.
- Dye quality. Colour-fast dyes survive washing. Cheap dyes bleed in the first wash and fade unevenly by the tenth.
- Finishing. Straight seams, proper hems and true sizing take time on the machine, so budget sets skimp on them.
- Brand and shop. A large retailer's costs sit on top of all of the above. Sometimes you are paying for the fabric; sometimes for the shopping bag.
Thread count means less than you think
Thread count sounds scientific, which is why it appears on packets. But a mill can split one thread into several thinner plies and count each, so a "1000 thread count" sheet can be weaker and rougher than a well-made 300. Ignore the number and judge the fabric.
Three checks that actually work
- Hold it to the light. If you can see the outline of your hand clearly through a folded corner, the fabric is thin. Thin means cold in winter and short-lived.
- Rub the print between your fingers. A good print is part of the fabric. If it feels like a plastic film sitting on top, it will crack and fade.
- Check the measurements, not the label. "King" is not standardised in Pakistan. A set sold as king can be anywhere from 86 to 95 inches wide. Our bedsheet size guide shows how to measure your own bed first.
Buying online? You cannot touch the fabric, so read what the listing actually specifies: fabric name, exact dimensions in inches, and how many pillow covers. Anything vague is usually vague for a reason.
Where it is worth spending more
- The bed you sleep in every night. Spend here first; you are on it a third of your life.
- A protector under the sheet. A Rs 2,899 waterproof mattress protector saves a mattress worth many times that. Our guide explains why it matters.
- Winter bedding. A warm bed is a comfort you notice daily for four months; see the winter guide.
Where it is not
- Guest rooms. A mid-price set in a medium tone is the right call — see our guest room checklist.
- Children's beds. They will be washed twice as often and replaced sooner regardless of what you pay.
- Sets you buy to store. Bedding kept folded for years develops creases and yellowing along the folds, so buying ten sets at once rarely pays off.
Making a set last
Care changes the lifespan more than another thousand rupees at purchase:
- Wash in cold or lukewarm water, never hot.
- Use half the detergent you think you need; excess detergent stiffens fabric over time.
- Dry in shade, especially for the first few washes on dark prints.
- Rotate two sets rather than using one until it wears out.

Frequently asked questions
What is a reasonable price for a king bedsheet set in Pakistan?
Around Rs 2,500 to 4,000 buys good cotton or crystal cotton with colour-fast printing and correct king sizing. Below Rs 1,500 you are usually buying thin polyester blend.
Are expensive bedsheets always better?
No. Above roughly Rs 5,000 a growing share of the price is the brand rather than the fabric. Judge weight, fibre and dye instead of the price tag.
Does a higher thread count mean better quality?
Not reliably. Mills can inflate the number by counting thinner plies separately, so a 300 count sheet in good cotton often beats a claimed 1000.
Why do cheap bedsheets fade so fast?
Cheap dye sits on the surface rather than bonding with the fibre, so it washes out. Hot water and strong detergent speed that up.
How much are Khaash bedsheets?
Rs 2,399 for a king size crystal cotton set with two pillow covers, with free delivery and cash on delivery across Pakistan.
