Is Cash on Delivery Safe? Online Shopping in Pakistan

Cash on delivery is how most of Pakistan shops online, and for good reason. But it protects your money, not your purchase. Here is what it actually covers and how to judge a seller before you order.

Is Cash on Delivery Safe? Online Shopping in Pakistan

Most people in Pakistan still prefer to pay the courier in cash rather than enter a card number online. That instinct is sound: you keep your money until the parcel is in your hand, and no card details leave your house.

But cash on delivery is often misunderstood. It protects the payment. It does not, by itself, tell you anything about the seller or the product. Knowing the difference is what keeps you from being disappointed.

How COD actually works

  1. You place an order on the website and choose cash on delivery. No card, no bank details.
  2. Most shops confirm the order by phone or WhatsApp, partly to check the address and partly to make sure the order is real.
  3. The shop hands the parcel to a courier — TCS, Leopards, M&P, Trax or similar — and you get a tracking number.
  4. The rider arrives, you pay cash, you receive the parcel. The courier passes the money back to the seller, usually a week or two later.

That last detail explains something shoppers often wonder about: the seller is paid after you are, which is why a genuine shop has every reason to send the right item.

What COD protects you from, and what it does not

COD protects you fromCOD does not protect you from
Paying for an order that never arrivesReceiving something different from the photographs
Card details being stored or leakedPoor quality or the wrong size
Paying before the shop has shippedA shop with no returns policy
Online payment fraudA seller who stops answering afterwards

In short: COD is good protection against losing money to a shop that never ships. It is no protection against a shop that ships badly.

Six checks before you order from any Pakistani shop

  1. Is there a phone number that a human answers? This is the single best test. Call it before ordering if the amount matters to you.
  2. Is the full address and policy published? A shop with a real returns and privacy policy has thought about what happens when something goes wrong.
  3. Are the product details specific? Exact inches, fabric name, piece count. Vague listings — "king size, premium quality" and nothing else — usually mean the seller does not want to be held to the detail. Our size guide explains why inches matter more than the word "king".
  4. Do the photographs look like the actual product? One styled stock photo and no close-ups is a warning sign. Close-ups of the real fabric are a good sign.
  5. Is the price plausible? Genuine cotton bedding has a floor price. If something is far below everyone else, the saving is coming from somewhere — usually the fabric. Our price guide sets out what each budget really buys.
  6. Are there hidden charges? Some shops add a COD surcharge or delivery fee at the last step. Check the total before you confirm.

When the rider arrives

  • Check the parcel before paying if the seller allows it. Policies differ, so ask when you order rather than arguing at the door.
  • Keep the packaging until you are sure, because most return policies require it.
  • Count the pieces. A 3 piece set is one bedsheet and two pillow covers; a 7 piece set should have everything listed.
  • Note the tracking number from the confirmation message. It is what you need if anything goes wrong.
  • Pay the exact amount on the slip. Riders rarely carry change.

What to do if something is wrong

Contact the shop first, the same day, with photographs. A real shop would rather replace an item than argue, because a complaint costs them more than a bedsheet does. If a shop will not answer, your next step is the courier's complaint line using your tracking number, and then the Federal Ombudsman or the consumer court in your province. In practice, the shops that answer their phone resolve things; the ones that do not were avoidable at the first check.

How we do it

Everything on this site is cash on delivery, free delivery anywhere in Pakistan, usually 3 to 5 working days. You can call or WhatsApp us on 0332 3447976 before you order, during delivery, or after. Every listing states the exact size in inches, the fabric and the piece count, and you can track your order with the order number we send you.

If you are ordering bedding for the first time, our buying guide explains what to compare, and the bedsheet collection lists king size 3 piece crystal cotton sets at Rs 2,399.

Frequently asked questions

Is cash on delivery safe in Pakistan?
Yes, for your money. You pay only when the parcel reaches you, and no card details are shared. It does not guarantee the quality of what is inside, so still check the seller before ordering.

Can I open the parcel before paying?
It depends on the shop and the courier. Many allow it, some do not. Ask at the time of ordering rather than at the door.

How long does delivery take in Pakistan?
Usually 3 to 5 working days to most cities, sometimes longer to smaller towns or during wedding and Eid rushes.

Is there an extra charge for cash on delivery?
Some shops add a COD or delivery fee at checkout. Check the final total before confirming. Our delivery is free across Pakistan with no COD surcharge.

What if the product is wrong or damaged?
Contact the shop the same day with photographs and keep the packaging. A genuine seller will replace it. Keep your tracking number in case you need to raise it with the courier.
